* About the rationale:
The thesis has:
- Determined and clarified the concept of self-assessment in quality assurance.
- Proposed the conditions for implementation and the basic contents of a self-assessment in quality assurance at high schools.
* About the practical basis:
- The thesis has pointed out the practices of self-assessment at high schools in several countries around the world and has evaluated the current situation of self-assessment at high schools in Vietnam (typical case study in Thai Binh), from which to draw effective self-assessment experiences for high schools in Vietnam.
- The thesis has proposed and implemented some new self-assessment measures at high schools in Vietnam.
Based on fundamental rationale and practice, the thesis has proposed a number of recommendations for the Ministry of Education and Training, the provincial departments of Education and Training, and high schools in Vietnam in order to perform self-assessment activities in quality assurance effectively.
