Summary of new findings of the Dissertation

1. In theory

- This dissertation provides additional and particular theory on Life skills education and the management of life skills education in applying into entities of the management hierarchy of universities which are higher education institutions having typical features in comparison to other educational institutions.

- Defining a framework of 12 necessary life skills which is in accordance with students’ characteristics and university environment.

- Specifying contents of planning, organization, leadership, control and evaluation of Life skills education activities based on the managerial approach which is in accordance with university environment and students.

2. In practice

- This dissertation shows the strengths and weakness of life skills education and the management of life skills education for students at Hue University through a careful investigation and analysis on the current situation, explicitly in the weakness of the perception, planning, organization, leadership, evaluation of the life skills education activities.

- This dissertation proposes a system of 07 measures for different entities in the management hierarchy of life skill education at Hue University with a specifically analysis on objectives, contents, methods and conditions for implementing measures. Each measure embeds its own significant role which is in a reciprocal interaction with other measures in the system. These measures need to be implemented simultaneously in order to improve the effectiveness of life skills education and the management of life skills education in the management practice of the life skills education for students. These would be significant contributions in the overall educational quality for Hue University and the employability of Hue University graduates.
